Food Policy

We foster the design and implementation of food policies centered on strengthening local food systems to ensure that all people enjoy access to healthy and sustainable food.

To this end, we offer permanent advisory to local officials and decision makers, we implement training modules on food security, we conduct research and support the work of Municipal Food Security Committees.

What are the Municipal Food Security Committees?

Municipal Food Security Committees are multidisciplinary and multisectoral working groups that serve as advisory and advocacy boards to public and private institutions.

Capacity Development

We offer a series of trainings on food security, specifically tailored to develop and strengthen the capacities of civil servants. Our modules are centered on how to incorporate food system approaches to the national planning system, public school feeding programs and urban agriculture.

Strategic Advisory

Guaranteeing the right to food is a complex task; as such, we offer strategic advisory services to local actors. This work is complimented through permanent research efforts and data collection centered on helping to guide decision making processes.
